The Fujikawa (ふじかわ^?) is a limited express train service in Japan operated by JR Central which runs between Shizuoka and Kōfu. Since 1995, it has been advertised as Wide View Fujikawa, following the introduction of new 383 series EMUs replacing the previous 165 series trains.

History

• 1956-03-20: Semi Express Fujikawa (富士川^?) service introduced between Fuji and Kōfu using 80 series 4-car EMUs.
• 1964-10-01: Service extended to Shizuoka.
• 1966-03-05: Service between Shizuoka and Kōfu upgraded to Express.
• 1972-03-15: 80 series EMUs replaced by 165 series EMUs displaced by opening of Sanyō Shinkansen.
• 1995-10-01: Service upgraded to Limited Express following introduction of new 373 series trains, with name written in Katakana.
• 2007-03-18: All cars made no-smoking.
